Layered in Istanbul: A Play on Texture

This was a chilly day in mid February in Istanbul before the snowstorm hit the very next day. I layered up on all my warm textures before heading out the door for our initial walk around the neighborhood in Beyoğlu.

This vintage Barbara Bui mahogany red leather jacket has been one of my go-to's for a while now, it seemed appropriate for the lively streets of Istanbul. I wore this over my red-tone grey wool blend horizontal rib sweater for a cohesive color statement.  The bottoms are unique. It's this blue wax foil that's been pressed onto a black coated blue jean creating this amazing textural work of art, definitely a great statement piece. I just had to cuff the hem a few times for it to work. And lastly, showed my metallic leather embossed Cole Haan oxfords some love.
