Believe it or not, I recently just made my first white skinny jean purchase. Ever.
For the longest time, I was convinced that white jeans were off limits because when you're short and have a thicker lower half in proportion to the rest of your body, white bottoms can gain you some extra pounds down there....which would be the last illusion I would ever want to make of myself.
And as I grew up trying to solve this riddle, my very own mother, funny enough, had quite the conundrum of her own.
She simply refrained from wearing black skinny jeans because she believed her legs would appear too skinny.
I'm sorry, what?
Correct me if I'm wrong but in all honesty, what woman do you know out there who would prefer not to look skinny?
As a result, I would watch my mom absolutely rock bottoms in all array of colors including the wildest prints, paint splatters, light wash, grey wash, and of course a plethora of whites over her nice thin legs. And me? I would stick with my blacks...and my blues.
Thanks to the all white frenzy I've been having these days, all that would change. Upon trying on all sorts of white garments, I got to trying on these off white jeans by Nili Lotan. And in that moment, I knew something was about to change. I had to wear white denim.
I realized it didn't look all that bad and as long as they fit right, white jeans are such a nice addition to the wardrobe. With all that being said, I called my mom when I purchased my first whites to inform her of this successful conversion; in hopes to hear that she too, would embrace her lovely thin legs and finally say yes to the beauty of black skinny jeans. She hasn't given in...at least not yet.
