This was a chilly day in mid February in Istanbul before the snowstorm hit the very next day. It seems New York hasn't been the only one with this bipolar weather condition, Istanbul had clearly been diagnosed as well. And so unprepared as I was for the impending cold, I layered all my warm textures before heading out the door for our initial walk around the neighborhood in Beyoğlu.
This vintage Barbara Bui mahogany red leather jacket has been one of my go-to's for a while now, it seemed appropriate to have fun with color prancing around the lively streets of Istanbul. I wore this over my red-tone grey wool blend horizontal rib sweater for a cohesive color statement and to actually keep warm. The bottoms are unique. It's this blue wax foil that's been pressed onto a black coated blue jean creating this amazing textural work of art, definitely a great statement piece. I just had to cuff the hem a few times to avoid awkward leg proportion.
And lastly, because I can't get enough of those metallic kicks, showed my metallic leather embossed Cole Haan oxfords,
(aka sneakers) some love.
